Job summary

Routes Healthcare in Doncaster is seeking an experienced Complex Care Assistant to support a paediatric client with complex healthcare needs. You will provide compassionate, safe, and person-centred care across home and school environments, including overnight and day shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care tailored to the client's individual needs.
  • Support with jejunostomy tube feeding and management of a gastric drain.
  • Monitor and care for a Port-a-Cath.
  • Follow epilepsy and seizure management protocols.
  • Follow sepsis protocols and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Provide full personal care, including continence support.
  • Accurately document care provided and clinical observations.
  • Build a trusting relationship and understand the client's communication through behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with family members, school staff, and healthcare professionals.

Pay Rate: £14.99 per hour (including holiday pay)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced care professional with a background in paediatric and complex care, who can provide safe, compassionate support while building a positive and trusting relationship with the client. Full specialist clinical training will be provided.

The client has a range of clinical needs and communicates through behaviours rather than verbal communication. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting their health, safety, wellbeing, and daily routines while promoting a positive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience supporting individuals with complex medical needs in home or educational settings
  • NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care
