Job summary

Advantage Healthcare in Retford is seeking a dedicated care assistant to support a gentleman with a C4 spinal injury. You will assist with mobility, personal care, and enabling independence at home and work, including catheter care and monitoring autonomic dysreflexia. Night staff also support bowel care in the morning.

Full nurse-led training provided; no prior care experience required. A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are needed due to the role’s geographical location and

Pay: Days -£13.55 per hour | Nights - £14.25 per hour

Shifts:Day & Nights Available 8:30am - 9:30pm | 8:30pm - 9:30am

Driver: Yes -A full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, due to the geographical location of the role and lack of public transport in the local area.

Job Description

What you’ll do

You will be supporting a gentleman with a C4 spinal injury where the main duties of this role will be to support him with mobility, assist him with personal care and help him to be independent both at home and at work. He does have a suprapubic catheter with a history of autonomic dysreflexia, so this will be need to monitored and maintained. The night time care staff will also assist with bowel care in the morning.

This client enjoys socialising with his friends, especially attending football matches.

The key tasks with this role include:

• Moving and Handling
• Administering medication
• Personal care including catheter care and bowel management.
• Supporting with day to day activities at home and place of work (e.g. sending e-mails on his behalf)
