Job summary

Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH, is recruiting for a Complex Care role in Retford. You will support a gentleman with a C4 spinal injury, assisting with mobility, personal care and independence at home and work. Night care includes bowel monitoring alongside you, with a strong emphasis on safety and dignity.

The role requires no prior care experience, with full nurse-led training provided. A driver’s licence and access to transport are beneficial in this geographically spread area.

Qualifications

• You don’t need care experience, but care, compassion and resilience are essential as nurse-led training is provided.
• Experience in spinal injuries is a plus: spinal injuries, bowel management, medication administration, specialist moving & handling equipment.

Pay: Days -£13.55 per hour | Nights - £14.25 per hour

Shifts:Day & Nights Available 8:30am - 9:30pm | 8:30pm - 9:30am

Driver: Yes -A full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, due to the geographical location of the role and lack of public transport in the local area.

Job Description

What you’ll do

You will be supporting a gentleman with a C4 spinal injury where the main duties of this role will be to support him with mobility, assist him with personal care and help him to be independent both at home and at work. He does have a suprapubic catheter with a history of autonomic dysreflexia, so this will be need to monitored and maintained. The night time care staff will also assist with bowel care in the morning.

This client enjoys socialising with his friends, especially attending football matches.

The key tasks with this role include:

• Moving and Handling
• Administering medication
• Personal care including catheter care and bowel management.
• Supporting with day to day activities at home and place of work (e.g. sending e-mails on his behalf)
