Job summary

CCH Group is seeking a compassionate care assistant to support a client in their own home in the Newark area. The role includes day, evening and some weekend shifts, with thorough nurse-led training provided.

No prior care experience is essential as training is offered; a full UK driving licence is required. You will help with personal care, meals, medication administration and community activities.

Qualifications

• No prior care experience required; full nurse-led training provided.
• A background in caring for clients with cerebral palsy or medication administration would be advantageous.
• You must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support with personal care in the client’s home, including evening and night routines.
• Assist with moving and handling and daily activities.
• Prepare meals and administer medications as instructed.
• Support weekends and community activities.
• Record changes in health and progress and report to supervisor.

Shifts: Day shifts available | Monday to Friday, 3:15 pm – 9:30 pm | Weekends, 7:00 am – 9:30 pm

Driver: Yes -A full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, due to the geographical location of the role.

Job Description

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll support a 54-year-old gentleman with cerebral palsy in his own home. Our client attends a day centre during the week, and you’ll provide support when he returns home, helping him with his evening and night-time routine.

At weekends, you may also support him to get out and enjoy activities in the community. He particularly enjoys hydrotherapy swimming, listening to music and watching television.

The key tasks within this role include:

• Supporting with personal care, including showering
• Moving and handling
• Preparing meals
• Administering medication
• Completing his evening and night-time routine
• Supporting him with days out and activities at weekends

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

You don’t need any care experience to apply for this role, just plenty of care, compassion and resilience, as we provide full nurse-led training.

However a background in caring for clients with cerebral palsy, medication administration and specialist moving and handling would make your application more advantageous.

You must hold a full UK driving licence to be considered for this role.
