Job summary

Innovate Care Group is hiring a Complex Care Assistant in Reading, responsible for providing safe, outstanding care to a young adult with a brain injury. You will collaborate with a Registered Nurse and help maintain client independence through daily activities.

The role requires at least 12 months of care experience, particularly in seizure management and suctioning. The position offers weekly pay, holiday pay included, and opportunities for continuous development.

Complex Care Assistant – Reading

Job type: Full time, minimum 1 shift per week (Thursday/Saturday & additional ad hoc shifts). Rate: £16.87 per hour. Location: Reading, Slough region.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a Registered Nurse and provide safe, outstanding care to a young adult male with brain injury.
• Support daily activities and maintain client independence.
• Perform clinical tasks such as suction, PEG feeding, wound care, bowel care (including manual evacuation) and seizure management.
• Assist with any additional duties and maintain a positive, person‑centred approach.

Experience with individuals with sight and hearing impairment would be advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

• At least 12 months of care experience including seizure management and suctioning.

• Good communication skills and IT confidence.
• Willingness to work as part of a family‑centred care team.
• Understanding of safeguarding.
• Ability to recognise deterioration in both psychological and physical health.
