Job summary

Advantage Healthcare (AGH) in NG16 area seeks a care assistant to support a 93-year-old gentleman at home with complex care needs including a tracheostomy. You will help keep him comfortable and well-supported in his own home.

You do not need prior care experience; full nurse-led training is provided. Nursing tasks, personal care, and moving and handling form part of the role, with flexibility in shift patterns.

Job description

Pay: £14.30 per hour for day shifts | £14.80 per hour for night shifts

Shifts: Days and nights available | 8:00 am - 8:00 pm and 8:00 pm - 8:00 am

Job Description

What you'll do

In this role, you'll support a 93-year-old gentleman with complex care needs, including a tracheostomy. You'll help him remain comfortable and well supported while receiving care within his own home.

Our client enjoys watching television and films and is particularly interested in football and cricket.

The key tasks within this role include:

• Providing personal care
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning
• Moving and handling
• Supporting with bowel management
• Administering medication
• Supporting with day-to-day activities

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

You don't need previous care experience to apply for this role, just plenty of care, compassion and resilience, as we provide full nurse-led training.

Previous experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, PEG care, bowel management, medication administration or moving and handling would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

A meet and greet with the client will be required as part of the recruitment process.
