Job summary

Barnsley Premier Leisure is seeking a dedicated Swimming Coach to join the BOBSC team and help develop swimmers toward regional and national levels. The role involves delivering high-quality coaching in a high-performance setting, with a focus on athlete wellbeing and technical excellence.

The candidate should hold ASA/STA Level 2 and RLSS Lifeguard qualifications, be willing to cover sessions, and attend weekend meets.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching age-group swimmers
• Willing to cover sessions and attend weekend meets
• Pass BPL's water safety test

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate training sessions for athlete development
• Coach performance-level swimmers across age groups and abilities
• Prepare swimmers for competitions, including race strategy and performance analysis
• Monitor and track swimmer progress with feedback and goal setting
• Work with Head Coach and team to support squad objectives
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional training environment
• Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff
• Support squad administration (attendance, competition entries, reports)

Education

ASA or STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification

RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification
