Job summary

Highcroft Veterinary Hospital in Bristol is recruiting a Veterinary Receptionist to join CVS Vets. The role is permanent, full-time in terms of weekly hours, with 17 hours per week and a weekend rota.

The position requires experience in reception or a similarly demanding, client‑facing role. You will manage calls, onboarding of clients, insurance forms, and payments, while delivering compassionate client care in a busy veterinary setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Receptionist or in a demanding, client-focused role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic admin tasks.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
• Respond to queries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism.
• Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome.
• Process and manage insurance forms adeptly.
• Dispense medications as required.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Provide empathy and support to clients during distressing times.
• Organise patients using the in‑house system.
• Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries.
• Make necessary calls regarding debts, belongings and refunds.
• Ensure clients feel welcomed and valued at the practice.
