Job summary

GSL Education Hull Branch is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive educational setting in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This temporary, supply, and full-time role starts as soon as possible and offers pay of £92–£115 per day depending on experience.

The successful candidate will provide consistent classroom support, build positive relationships with pupils and help create an inclusive learning environment where every learner can progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with different needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Ability to support pupils with learning, behavioural, social or emotional barriers.
• Up-to-date CV covering the last 10 years, with any employment gaps explained.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils during lessons and learning activities.
• Assist teachers with classroom tasks, resources and activities to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Support pupils' communication, social interaction, confidence and independence.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual learning, developmental and emotional needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to monitor pupil progress and provide consistent support.
