Job summary

Royal Mencap Society seeks a compassionate, patient individual to support people with learning disabilities in Derry/Londonderry. You will use PBS techniques to promote engagement, build trust, and enable independence across day, night, and weekend shifts. A clean UK driving licence is required; sponsorship is not available.

You will assist with personal care, finances, and community activities, working in a supportive, inclusive team with ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates compassion, patience and dedication to helping others.
• Excellent conversational skills with a good sense of humour.
• Able to use PBS strategies in everyday conversations to promote engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support people with learning disabilities in daily life and routines.
• Assistance with personal care and medication, including bathing and dressing.
• Help with finances and everyday tasks like shopping and bill payments.
• Encourage independence and social inclusion through community activities.
