Job summary

Seco Support is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help Cody live independently in Dudley. You will assist with personal care, meals, and household tasks, and support access to community activities and education.

The role requires flexibility for 12-hour shifts from 10:00 to 22:00 and 22:00 to 10:00, with full training provided and DBS checks completed. Driving license and vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or support role is a plus but not required.
• Be 21 or over for insurance purposes
• Experience with caring for/handling dogs is desirable
• Makaton 1 or 2 is desirable
• A compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training, including first aid, manual handling, and safeguarding.
• Full driving license and access to a vehicle is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Support Worker to assist Cody with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
• The role includes supporting Cody in accessing community activities, education, and employment, while promoting independence, confidence, and well-being.
• You will administer medication, maintain accurate records, and work closely with healthcare professionals and family to implement care plans.
• Providing emotional support, companionship, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for Cody are key aspects of this role.
