Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is recruiting a Sous Chef for Darwin Court Care Home in Lichfield. You will assist the Head Chef in delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals and leading a small culinary team.

The role requires a catering qualification and at least 1 year of catering experience, with a strong commitment to resident wellbeing, hygiene, and cost control. DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK apply. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent).
• Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.

Responsibilities

• Support the head chef in leading a culinary team to provide a nutritionally balanced, high-quality culinary service within budget.
• Prepare modified diets following IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise culinary staff and train junior staff as directed by the Head Chef.
• Maintain highest hygiene standards and food safety compliance.
• Understand Avery Food safety management system and implement it.
