Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm and dedicated Sous Chef for Avonmere Care Home in Bristol. You will assist the Head Chef to lead a culinary team in delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget, supporting resident well-being.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent) with at least 1 year of catering experience, demonstrating compassion and flexibility to cover various duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of catering experience.
• Ability to work in a team to deliver high-quality meals.
• Demonstrates compassion and commitment to residents.
• Able to adapt to a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare modified diets that are visually appealing and balanced per IDDSI guidance.
• Supervise and direct culinary staff as needed by Head Chef.
• Ensure all food handling meets highest hygiene standards.
• Support the culinary team in understanding Avery Food safety management system.
