Job summary

Prospero Teaching are recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Huyton. The role focuses on providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, helping them access an inclusive curriculum and develop independent learning skills.

You will work with teachers and SENCOs to support learning, communication, behaviour and emotional development. The ideal candidate will have experience with autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs, and enjoy a patient,

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage behaviour and support emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Support pupils to access a differentiated and inclusive curriculum.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
• Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Support pupils with communication and social development.
• Deliver targeted interventions and classroom-based activities.
• Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff.
