Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a Qualified SEND Teaching Assistant in Liverpool to support children and young people with severe, profound and complex SEND needs in a specialist through-school setting.

You will provide one-to-one and small-group support, assist with personal care and mobility, and deliver tailored sensory and play activities in collaboration with teachers and therapists. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold Level 2 Teaching Assistant or Level 3 TA qualification or HLTA status.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience with pupils with complex autism and other complex needs.
• Comfort with personal care and physical needs.
• Able to work in a team and follow individual care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils engage in learning.
• Support personal care, including toileting and changing.
• Assist with mobility and physical needs, including wheelchair transfers and hoisting.
• Deliver sensory-based and play-based activities tailored to each pupil.
• Work with teachers, therapists and medical staff to keep children safe and included.
• Support pupils to develop independence, communication and life skills.
