Job summary

Five Education are seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a well-resourced school in South Gloucestershire, supporting learners with SEND. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for students with Autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs, with driving required to reach the school.

You will work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to adapt lessons, promote inclusion, and help develop communication, emotional regulation, and independence in pupils across the day.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND, including Autism and ADHD.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a calm, nurturing approach.
• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support aligned to EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Support development of communication, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and SENDCo to implement effective strategies.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes.
