Empowering Learning Ltd in Reddish, SK5 is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to pupils with special educational needs in a specialist setting. You will work closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive learning and positive behavioural approaches, ensuring a safe and engaging classroom environment.

The role offers consistent hours, Monday to Friday, with a full-time contract and the opportunity to contribute to children’s development within a supportive school

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Patient, compassionate and resilient.
  • Confident supporting pupils with a range of needs.
  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Passionate about making a genuine difference to children's lives.
  • Experience in SEN/specialist setting desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with additional and special educational needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Assist pupils with learning, development and communication.
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and other members of the support team.
  • Create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment.
