Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. seeks a compassionate Special Needs Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN in South Yorkshire. You will work with teachers and other professionals to help learners with autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties, supporting academic and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN is desirable but not essential.

Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Daily Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Special Needs Assistants to join our supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language Difficulties, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
• Support pupils with personal development, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence and confidence within the classroom and wider school environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
• Assist with classroom preparation and adapting resources to meet individual needs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

What We're Looking For

• A caring, patient, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
• Understanding of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or Learning Difficulties, is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop professionally.
