Job summary

Uniform Education seeks a caring SEN Teaching Assistant in Slough to support pupils with ASD, SEMH and complex learning needs. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils access learning through play-based and practical activities.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN experience is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD and SEMH is highly desirable.
• Good behaviour management and patience when working with young learners.
• Ability to adapt approaches for pupils with complex learning needs.
• DBS Update Service is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils with ASD, SEMH and challenging behaviours calmly.
• Help pupils access learning through play, sensory and practical activities.
• Adapt resources for pupils at early developmental levels.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Encourage independence and build life skills.
• Use visual timetables and structured routines where appropriate.
• Implement individual behaviour and learning support plans.
• Maintain safeguarding and pupil welfare standards.
• Work with teachers and SEN staff to provide consistent support.
