Job summary

Farleigh Hospice is seeking a part-time Second Chef to join our catering team in the renovated kitchen and café, providing meals for inpatients, staff and visitors. The role requires previous catering experience and a commitment to high hygiene standards, with shifts totaling 24 hours per week over four days.

You will plan, prepare, cook and serve meals, with some weekend work and the ability to work independently when required.

Qualifications

• Previous catering training and experience with the ability to cook a variety of meals independently.
• Knowledge on food hygiene standards and nutrition.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleaning.
• Cook hot and cold meals and assist with event catering.
• Work as part of a team with staff and volunteers.
• Work independently on weekend shifts when required.
