Job summary

Willowrbook in Knowsley is seeking a part-time Cook to join our friendly kitchen team, reporting to the Head Chef. You will prepare tailored, nutritious meals for staff, families, and visitors in our onsite café, while upholding high food safety standards.

You will work with a small team, provide guidance to catering assistants and volunteers, and help minimise waste by managing stock and coordinating with local suppliers. Training in Food Hygiene and Allergens is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Background as a commercial cook or chef or currently studying for a professional cookery qualification.
• Willingness to undertake Food Hygiene, Allergens and Dysphagia training.
• Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate and allergen training preferred, or Level 2 with willingness to train further.

Responsibilities

• Create tailored, nutritious and well-balanced dishes around individual medical, allergen and texture requirements.
• Cook and serve fresh, wholesome food daily for staff, families and visitors in the onsite café.
• Provide direction and daily task allocation to catering assistants and volunteers.
