Job summary

Derby City Council is recruiting a Residential Child Care Worker Level 2 at Lighthouse Derby to provide short breaks for disabled children and young people. You will plan and deliver compassionate care, build positive relationships with young people and families, and ensure safety and well-being during care sessions.

The role involves shift work, evening/weekend duties, and occasional sleep-in duties. We seek candidates with strong written and numerical skills; NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Health

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care desirable or commitment to study to achieve this.
• Applicants must be 22 years of age or above.
• Experience and passion for working with learning disabled children and young people aged 0 to 17 with complex needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver residential short breaks services to disabled children and young people.
• Plan, implement and review care plans with a caring and dynamic approach.
• Communicate effectively with young people and their families to meet care needs.
• Work as part of a team to plan and deliver care; may include sleep-in duties when required.
