Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is recruiting a Residential Childrens Worker for Spire Lodge, a 6-bed short break service near Chesterfield. You will deliver holistic care and safety, support children aged 8–17 with varying needs, and work with partners to meet individual family requirements.

The role involves shift work (early, late, sleep-in) with enhanced rates for sleep-in and bank holidays. A Level 3 qualification in the Children and Young People’s workforce is required or underway.

Qualifications

• Must hold, be working towards, or be willing to undertake Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015.
• Equivalent qualification such as NVQ 3 caring for children & young people considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic care and safety for children within the home.
• Provide services to Children within Specialist Services per legislative and policy requirements.
• Assume a parental role for the children.
• Liaise with internal and external partners to provide responsive care.
• Assess and monitor the care needs of the children.
• Escalate emergencies as needed.
