Job summary

Hunsley Primary School is seeking three Teaching Assistants to join a friendly, dedicated team supporting teaching, learning and care for children. The role runs up to 31.25 hours per week during term time, with a permanent contract and an annual salary of £18,682.02, paid in 12 monthly installments.

Ideal candidates will have good literacy and numeracy, a Level 2 TA qualification (or willingness to work towards it) and the ability to work collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• clarifying and explaining instructions
• ensuring pupils can use equipment and materials provided
• moving and handling to meet a child’s individual needs
• assisting in identified areas such as language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting, ICT and EAL
• helping pupils to concentrate on, and finish work set
• meeting the physical needs of pupils as required whilst encouraging independence
• liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs
• developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s)
