Job summary

AILN is seeking a kind and reliable Personal Assistant to support an older gentleman at his home in Ayr. The role provides flexible respite and cover, as required by his family, and involves assisting with daily living tasks and companionship.

The successful candidate will have patience with memory difficulties, comfort around dogs, and experience in care. This is a direct employment by the family with a supportive home environment.

Qualifications

• Kind, compassionate and respectful approach to care.
• Patience with memory difficulties and senior needs.
• Reliable, observant and able to follow routines.
• Experience in care or support work is beneficial.
• Comfortable around dogs and pet in the home.

Responsibilities

• Support with morning and evening personal care, including washing, dressing and oral hygiene.
• Assist with toileting and continence care while maintaining dignity.
• Apply creams and support skin care as directed.
• Provide safe mobility and movement around the home.
• Prepare and serve meals and ensure hydration.
• Assist with medication in line with care arrangements.
• Offer companionship and reassurance.
• accompany on occasional outings, including with mobility scooter.
• Monitor wellbeing and maintain a safe environment.
