Job summary

Direct Payments Support Service is seeking a reliable Male Personal Assistant to support a 40-year-old gentleman living with paranoid schizophrenia. The role is 4 hours per week, delivered as two 2-hour morning sessions, including community access, gym and activities, with emotional support and encouragement.

Qualifications

• Male applicant (genuine occupational requirement).
• Enhanced DBS and references required.
• Experience with severe mental health conditions (professional or lived experience).
• Calm, patient and understanding approach.

Responsibilities

• Morning support to establish a positive routine.
• Collecting and dropping off the employer.
• Supporting access to gym, exercise and community activities.
• Providing encouragement, reassurance and emotional support.
• Promoting independence, dignity and choice.
