Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a Personal Assistant to help the client participate in community activities and socialise in Aberystwyth. You will provide calm companionship and support safety, following the family’s routines and guidance.

The role aims to build confidence, independence, and provide respite to the family. Applicants may need Epilepsy knowledge and related training as part of the placement.

Qualifications

• Kind, patient, reliable and respectful.
• Able to provide calm companionship.
• Able to follow the family’s guidance and agreed routines.
• Comfortable supporting someone outside the home.
• Epilepsy knowledge is essential; training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support to take part in community activities and socialise.
• Encouragement to learn life skills and become more independent.
• Calm reassurance when dogs are nearby to help the client feel safe.
• Attend any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post.
