Job summary

Encompassborders in Jedburgh is recruiting a dedicated Personal Assistant to join a small support team. You will follow a weekly rota to help the client maintain health, independence, and community involvement, assisted by trained professionals and a caring network.

Full training is provided, including catheter care, and you will work closely with family and District Nurses to ensure high-quality care while respecting the client’s preferences and privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with autism and learning disabilities is desirable but not essential
• Training will be provided for personal and practical care tasks

Responsibilities

• Support daily activities, including personal care, meal planning, and household tasks
• Carry out catheter care after training
• Administer medication as prescribed
• Liaise with family and professionals to ensure quality care
• Encourage life skills development and independence
• Help access community activities and personal interests
• Respect privacy and act as advocate when needed
