Job summary

EMED Group in Crewe is recruiting compassionate Ambulance Care Assistants for a permanent part-time role (25 hours per week) on a 3 week rolling rota covering weekdays, weekends and bank holidays. Shifts run 15:45–00:15 and 05:45–16:15.

You will transport patients to medical appointments and between facilities, often with a colleague or alone. A full UK manual driving licence and good physical fitness for manual handling are required; full induction and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK manual driving licence (6 points maximum) and be physically fit for patient handling.
• Be an effective communicator, capable of supporting patients and relatives in challenging circumstances.
• Commitment to patient care and teamwork; DBS check is company funded.

Responsibilities

• Transporting elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between facilities.
• Assist with the transfer of end-of-life service users with empathy and care.
• Build rapport with patients and relatives; communicate clearly with staff.
• Ensure ambulance is clean, safe and well maintained; assist with handovers.
• Support with lifting, securing and moving patients as required.
