Job summary

EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant in Peterborough to support patients travelling to and from medical facilities. No prior ambulance experience is required as full training is provided.

The role involves driving, patient handling and compassionate care across 40 hours weekly, with shifts from 05:30 to 00:00, four days per week. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, and a DBS check is funded by the company.

Qualifications

• Requires UK manual driving licence and ability to drive in varied conditions.
• Demonstrates empathy and effective communication with patients and relatives.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a care setting.
• Physically fit for patient handling and moving during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between facilities, with or without a colleague.
• Assist with lifting, transferring and positioning patients safely.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and clear communication with patients and families.
• Hand over patients to nursing or clinical staff on arrival at facilities.
• Keep ambulances clean, safe and well-maintained for every shift.
• Support transport of end-of-life patients with empathy and professionalism.
