Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is looking for a passenger transport driver to safely carry children and adults to schools and day centres. You will work as part of a small team with the Passenger Assistant, helping passengers with mobility needs and ensuring a courteous, supportive service throughout each journey.

You will perform safety checks, assist with tail lifts and wheelchair securing, keep the vehicle clean, top up fuel, and report any faults.

Qualifications

• D1 category license (101) required; PSV may be needed in some cases.
• No more than 6 penalty points on driving record.
• Must be fit to drive and pass a medical / DBS check.
• Must be aged 21 or over.

Responsibilities

• Drive a vehicle as part of a team with the Passenger Assistant.
• Assist with moving passengers, including tail lift use and wheelchair securing.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance, keep vehicle clean, refuel, and conduct safety checks.
• Drive on split shifts to transport individuals to destinations and back.
