Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a Transport Assistant to support service users who may be Older People, have a Physical Disability, Sensory Impairment or Learning Disabilities. You will drive a departmental vehicle, ensuring safe and comfortable transport to day care settings and back home, including loading and unloading wheelchairs and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for service users in accordance with CCBC practices and procedures.
• Collecting and returning service users to their home, including loading/unloading wheelchairs and equipment.
• Act as first point of contact between service users, parents/carers, reporting on needs and condition.
• Communicate and liaise with relevant parties per service users care plan.
• Adhere to Health & Safety responsibilities for service users and staff.
• Undertake necessary training as required.
• Drive departmental vehicle, perform vehicle checks, maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow CCBC policies and procedures.
• Carry out duties in a manner that supports independence and teamwork.
