Marie Curie is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community-based overnight service in Lanarkshire. You will work overnight in patients’ homes, delivering compassionate, person-centred care to individuals at the end of life, ensuring comfort, dignity and continuity of care while supporting families through the night.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' experience delivering care in health or social care.
• Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
• Nurturing and compassionate approach with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while being part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Access visit schedules and patient details via the electronic tablet system at the start of each shift.
• Contact patients and families prior to arrival to confirm visits and provide reassurance.
• Attend patients’ homes and communicate with patients and loved ones, liaising with out-of-hours clinical service.
• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care including pain and symptom management, pressure area care, monitoring, and hydration.
