Job summary

CHEC is seeking an Optical Assistant in Blackpool to join our clinical team. You will work with the clinical staff, support pre- and post-operative activities, and ensure patients receive high-quality care throughout their CHEC journey.

The role focuses on assisting in eye care clinics, maintaining equipment, and preparing spaces for clinical activities. A patient-centric approach and strong organisational skills are essential to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinicals.
• Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring patients receive high quality care and our theatre team is supported during surgery.
• Support patients throughout their CHEC journey and report concerns.
• Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities.
• Adhere to good record keeping and high standards of quality patient care.
