Job summary

EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to support our Secure Mental Health Contract in Gloucester. This permanent, full-time role requires compassion, calmness under pressure and a commitment to treating every person with dignity as you assist patients during journeys to and from healthcare and care settings.

You will work as part of a two- or three-person crew, drive safely, and support service users with complex mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and hospital staff.
• Ability to work as part of a team in challenging environments.

Responsibilities

• Support service users on board as part of a care crew.
• Drive safely and ensure vehicle is safe to operate.
• Assist service users with complex mental health needs.
• Transport between hospitals, homes and care settings.
• Hand over service users to appropriate staff on arrival.
• Keep the ambulance clean and orderly.
