EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant (Secure Mental Health) to join the Safe Care Division in Guildford, Surrey. The role involves transporting service users to and from healthcare facilities, often in teams, with full training provided.

Successful candidates will hold a full UK manual driving licence, be committed to patient care, and able to communicate effectively in challenging situations. The position offers a 4-on 3-off schedule (Wed–Sat, 12:00–22:00) and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence.
• Commitment to patient care and ability to build rapport with patients.
• Effective communication skills for emotional situations.
• Calm, careful driver with up to six penalty points.
• Natural flair for teamwork and collaboration.
• Physical fitness for patient handling and possible restraint when required.

Responsibilities

• Support service users on board as part of a team.
• Drive vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Assist with challenging behaviour and mental health needs.
• Coordinate with police and professionals to transport service users between locations.
• Hand over service users to staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals.
• Ensure ambulance is kept clean, safe and tidy.
