Job summary

Bupa is hiring a Kitchen Assistant (Part Time) at Norewood Lodge Care Home in Portishead. The role involves supporting the kitchen team, plating meals, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

You will work around 30 hours per week, with a starting hourly rate in the £13.10–£14.10 range depending on experience. This permanent part-time position offers benefits and a chance to contribute to resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Ability to deliver an excellent dining experience for residents.
• Comfortable communicating with team members and care home staff.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
• Assist chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys, and keep preparation areas clean.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH/HACPP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
