Job summary

Hungerford Care Home is seeking a kitchen assistant to support meal preparation and service for residents. You will help with breakfast items, vegetable prep and sandwich making, while ensuring all kitchen equipment and areas are cleaned to schedule.

You will also handle proper storage of dry goods, perishable items and cleaning materials, and operate the dishwasher for crockery and utensils. The role requires adherence to health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining high

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen/food service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow hygiene and safety regulations.
• Willingness to work as part of a care home kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of produce for meal service, including cooking breakfast items and sandwiches.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and areas are cleaned according to schedules.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
• Store dry and perishable goods promptly after receipt and checking.
• Store cleaning materials safely and correctly.
• Clean crockery, cutlery and glasses using the main kitchen dishwasher.
• Wash and store pots, pans and utensils to standard.
