Job summary

Ashlynn Grange Care Home in Peterborough is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality meals for residents, ensuring dietary requirements are met and kitchen areas are clean and well stocked. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will help with meal service, maintain hygiene standards, and engage residents during dining with warmth and respect.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £12.71, a rota-based schedule, and benefits such as a comprehensive induction

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment, ideally in care, but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable.
• Reliable with good communication and attention to detail.
• Able to use basic Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef to ensure high standards of catering and dining for residents.
• Assist with meal service and ensure dietary requirements are met and areas are stocked.
• Engage with residents during dining with respect and empathy.
• Ensure Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards are followed.
