Job summary

Pilgrims’ Friend Society in Bath is seeking a Bank Kitchen Assistant to join our Catering Team in a residential care home for older people. You will support meal service, maintain cleanliness, and help with general kitchen duties in a supportive, Christian care environment.

The role offers bank shifts to cover absence and holidays, with a focus on teamwork, empathy for residents, and flexible, practical support in a busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen/catering environment preferred.
• Ability to work with older people with empathy.
• Willingness to undergo DBS checks and training as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash up catering equipment and utensils.
• Maintain kitchen and catering area cleanliness.
• Clean water spills and other spillages immediately.
• Keep records as required by the manager.
• Serve the evening tea-time meal (simple items).
• Clear tables after meals.
• Stack the dishwasher and manage washing duties.
