Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society in Bath invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant on a bank basis to join our catering team at Bridgemead, a dementia-friendly residential care home. The role covers general kitchen duties, cleanliness, basic laundry handling and supporting residents with meals in a compassionate environment.

We offer full induction and training, flexible bank shifts to cover holidays, and a range of staff benefits.

Qualifications

• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them.
• You need to be able to operate laundry equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
• You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents; and
• You must be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

Responsibilities

• Wash up the catering equipment and utensils;
• Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment;
• Ensure all water and other spillages are cleaned up immediately after they occur;
• Maintain records as required by your manager;
• Serving the evening tea time meal (usually sandwiches or something very simple)
• Clearing tables
• Stacking dishwasher

We currently have an opportunity for an energetic individual to join our Catering Team in our residential care home for older people as a General Assistant.

Bridgemead is a 32-bed residential care home by the river in central Bath. The health, well-being and happiness of our residents is of primary importance to us. The home cares for those who live with dementia and respite care in Bath. View our lovely home here.

Responsibilities:

General Assistant

• Wash up the catering equipment and utensils;
• Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment;

We offer a full induction to the work and also provide other training as required by the post but it will be working alone
