Job summary

Alex Wood House Care Home in Cambridge is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Head Chef and provide a high-quality catering service for residents. You will help with meal service, keep areas clean and stocked, and ensure meals meet dietary needs.

NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable; experience in a kitchen or catering is preferred. The role offers 20 hours per week at £12.71 per hour and a comprehensive induction.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen environment or catering background, ideally in care.
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene desirable.
• Reliable with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef to maintain high quality catering and dining experiences.
• Assist meal service and ensure areas are clean and stocked; accommodate dietary needs.
• Engage with residents respectfully and maintain safety in food handling.
• Ensure Health & Safety compliance per Food Safety and Health & Safety manuals.
