Job summary

You Matter is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Leeds to provide compassionate, person-centered support to residents experiencing homelessness and addiction issues. You will work with the leadership team to deliver high-standard services, ensuring safety, dignity, and empowerment for residents.

The role involves risk assessments, safeguarding, and coordinating with health services to address physical and mental health needs, with shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Background in charity or homelessness sector preferred.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and housing law is desirable.
• Excellent communication and professional boundaries are essential.

Responsibilities

• Welcome residents and carry out risk assessments.
• Ensure basic needs: accommodation, food, guidance.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of residents at risk.
• Advocate for social inclusion and access to health/financial support.
• Manage Housing Benefit and service charges.
• Develop and review written support plans reflecting residents’ needs.
• Collaborate with health teams to address physical and mental health.
