Job summary

You Matter is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide empathetic and unconditional support to residents experiencing homelessness and addiction. You will join a team led by the Director of Homeless Services to deliver high-quality service delivery and operational planning.

This role requires care, resilience, and a strong commitment to bring about positive change in residents' lives, working within a 24-hour residential setting while upholding SHREK values.

Qualifications

• Experience in charity or homelessness sector preferred.
• Understanding of welfare benefits and housing law desired.
• Excellent communication with confidentiality.
• Empathy with professional boundaries.
• Willingness to be flexible and innovative.
• Strong time management and prioritisation.
• IT literate with MS Office and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Welcome new residents and conduct risk assessments.
• Ensure basic needs: housing, food, guidance.
• Promote welfare and safeguarding of residents.
• Advocate for social inclusion and access to health/financial support.
• Manage Housing Benefit and service charges.
• Develop and review written support plans with residents.
