Job summary

You Matter is seeking a dedicated Support Worker in Liverpool to help residents move from emergency accommodation toward independent living. The role focuses on trauma-informed, person-centered support, working within a compassionate team to empower individuals who have experienced homelessness.

The role requires charity experience, housing knowledge in the Liverpool region, excellent communication, empathy, and a commitment to flexible, coordinated care.

Qualifications

• Experience in charity or homelessness services preferred.
• Knowledge of housing legislation and Liverpool-area needs is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, including with non-native English speakers.

Responsibilities

• Support residents entering the service in their new accommodation.
• Contribute to team meetings and handovers to ensure good communication.
• Assist with Housing benefit claims and resolve initial claim issues.
• Coordinate with Housing solutions and move-on pathways for independent living.
• Safeguard welfare and promote social inclusion for residents.
• Maintain residents' electronic records and rent payments in the Housing Management System (DAVE).
• Handle incidents, complaints and safeguarding disclosures promptly.
