Job summary

SILVER BLUE SERVICES LTD t/a Springday Healthcare in Wales is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to provide compassionate, person-centred care. You will assist with personal care, support daily activities, and work under the direction of registered nurses to ensure comfort and safety for patients.

You will follow care plans, maintain clear communication with patients and colleagues, participate in training, and uphold dignity, privacy, and infection-control standards in a respectful team

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient with kindness, dignity and respect, taking account of their preferences, culture, communication needs and privacy.
• Support patients with personal care and everyday activities, such as washing, dressing, toileting, eating and drinking, as directed by the care plan.
• Encourage patients to do as much as they safely can for themselves and support mobility and independence as directed by the registered practitioner.
• Observe patients and promptly report changes, concerns or requests for help to the registered nurse or appropriate clinician.
• Record care given and observations accurately, promptly and in accordance with local policy.
• Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming care environment, following infection prevention, health and safety, and waste-disposal procedures.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, relatives, carers and colleagues, referring clinical questions or concerns to the appropriate registered practitioner.
• Work constructively with the nursing team and other professionals involved in the patient’s care, including supporting safe handovers within the role.
• Attend required induction, training, supervision and development activities, and maintain competence for delegated tasks.
• Willingness to complete mandatory training and role-specific competency assessment.
• Understanding of equality, dignity, privacy and person-centred care.
