Job summary

Millennium Staffing Limited is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support residents with personal care, mobility, meals and daily activities in a care home setting, working within multidisciplinary teams and following care plans to uphold dignity and safety.

You will need empathetic communication, reliability and flexibility for day, night, weekends and bank holidays. UK eligibility and pre-employment checks apply; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate and patient approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of person-centred care, safeguarding, confidentiality and dignity for residents.
• Ability to follow instructions, care plans, risk assessments and workplace policies.
• Flexibility to work day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to complete pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting, while respecting dignity and privacy.
• Support residents with mobility, repositioning and transfers following safe procedures.
• Assist with meals and drinks, meeting individual dietary and hydration needs.
• Provide emotional support, companionship and reassurance to residents.
• Observe residents' condition and report changes to the nurse or senior staff.
• Maintain care records and complete documentation as required by procedures.
• Follow care plans and risk assessments to ensure appropriate care.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment following infection prevention and safety procedures.
• Support residents with daily activities and encourage participation in social/recreational activities.
• Report accidents, safeguarding concerns and any abuse or neglect to senior staff.
