Job summary

Co-op Digital is hiring a Funeral Service Crew member to support our Funeralcare operations in Ayr and Irvine. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) with an on-call rota that includes weekends, between 8am and 8pm. A full UK manual driving licence is required, and full training is provided.

You will help families say goodbye with professionalism, dignity and respect, with benefits and pension on offer. No prior funeral industry experience is needed as comprehensive training is provided,

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting.
• Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems.
• Compassionate and professional customer service in sensitive situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional, empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on the day of the funeral and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and funerals.
• Maintain client management applications with timely, detailed records.
• Safely lift and move coffins following safety guidelines.
