Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in St Albans is seeking a Funeral Arranger to join our caring team. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) offers a starting salary of £26,266 plus benefits and no prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided.

You’ll build relationships with clients and support families through the funeral process, while ensuring a respectful, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with clients and colleagues.
• Comfort with basic cash handling and invoicing.
• Attention to regulatory policies and accuracy.
• Proficient with common IT devices and software.
• Willingness to carry out physical duties and move items as required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe, and welcoming, and report maintenance issues.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, like selling funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased, including moving and viewing preparation tasks.
• Update client management applications with accurate records.
