Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare Ipswich is seeking a Funeral Arranger to join our friendly team on a 20-hour week. You’ll support families, organise visits, and manage client documentation using digital systems, while ensuring a respectful, welcoming environment at the funeral home.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided. The role offers a competitive salary (£13.47 per hour), a strong pension, annual leave, and staff discounts across Co-op products and services, with

Qualifications

• Good communication, both written and spoken.
• Ability to handle cash and simple calculations.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate records and compliance.
• Familiarity with a range of IT devices and software.
• High empathy, discretion and care in handling clients and the deceased.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming; report maintenance issues.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling and preparation of the deceased as trained.
